As the SVP of Energy Trading & Analytics at BETM, Mikhail Solovev brings over two decades of extensive experience in the energy sector. He began his journey at BETM in 2018, initially serving as Senior Director of Asset Valuations before taking on the Analytics responsibilities in 2019. His leadership skills were further recognized with a promotion to SVP in January 2022. Mikhail's prior experience at Citadel saw him excel in overseeing fundamental modeling of Natural Gas to inform trading strategies for one of the largest commodities businesses in hedge funds. His career commenced at Edison Mission Marketing & Trading as an Analyst, where he was pivotal in Asset Valuation and Optimization initiatives, ultimately becoming Director. Mikhail also boasts experience as a Project Manager at Exeter Group, managing teams in developing advanced tracking and billing systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from MIT and a M.S. in Mathematical Physics from Moscow State University.
