William Reno serves as the VP of Risk Management at BETM, where he expertly oversees the risk management teams, ensuring that risk analytics, credit risk, trade compliance, and risk reporting are effectively managed. His primary focus is to support BETM's commercial activities while preparing the company for the evolving challenges in the energy trading sector. Key responsibilities include counterparty and exchange enablement, collateral management, deal capture, valuation, confirmations, and compliance swap reporting. With over 25 years of experience in Risk and ETRM systems, William started his career at Cargill Energy, holding various risk and accounting positions in their oil and natural gas sectors. He joined BETM's predecessor, Citizens Power, in 1998 as a senior operational analyst in the risk group, and has since progressed through several risk management roles, ultimately leading the team under BETM's ownership by Edison Mission Energy and NRG Energy. William holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley University.
